Hello again everybody, Since my last update in February;
Our daughter, Connie, left July 5 for a year of student missionary service in
Costa Rica. She's doing great. Also on July 31, I had triple by-pass surgery. I
went home just 3 days later and am still recuperating. I exp ct to return to
work at least part-time next week (August 30). It all came as quite a surprise
though maybe it shouldn't have, with my family history of high cholestrol and
all. Anyway, I did not have a heart attack and got things fixed before there was
any heart muscle damage. God is good!!

Hard to believe nearly 25 years have passed since PVA. It
definitely seems like another lifetime -- perhaps even an alternate reality.
These days, I deal in those quite a bit: I'm a fulltime writer of sf and fantasy
novels and short stories. Bill works i television finance. We have two great
kids, Andrew (soon to be 13) and Sean (almost 10.) Andrew's current passions are
computers, math, and strategy gaming. Sean's an athlete and an avid beginning
flutist. After years of bopping around the US, we've come home to New England.
Paul, thanks for taking the initiative and time to put this site together. Glad
to read that you're doing well.

Just saying hi again. Particularly to all the great

I just want to update my e-mail address as it has
changed.

As I read all the entries from classmates, it's hard to
believe that a little school could scatter people to all ends of the earth. When
I found work seven years ago in Kentucky, it was my affiliation with PVA that
got me my job. My boss had served in Tan ania, his bush pilot was a PVA alumni,
Ed Perry. Now that I live in Florida, I expect to find more alumni at any
moment. The web designer for this site deserves applause for safeguarding the
memories of so many people so beautifully. Well done!

Can anyone tell me where Dean Mentges is? Thanks! An
e-mail would be nice too! Thanks!

Hello to all of my PVA Friends, Thanks to this web site,
I've been able to contact many of my old classmates. A few weeks ago I was on my
daughters Senior Class Trip from Pine Tree Academy in Maine, and was able to
spend 3 days with Joe Gonzales and his wife, Norma, at the ICC "El Oasis"
Orphanage in the Trinidad Valley of the Baja Peninsula of Mexico. What a joy to
visit together and relive old memories of our PVA years. Joe also graduated in
1967. We hadn't seen each other since graduation, 32 years ago, and here he was
meeting my daughter who is about to graduate herself. Thanks to all who are
involved in working on this website. I really appreciate it. Also on the trip,
we got to see Carol Harlow (class of 1968) who lives in the LA area. Also a
companying the students on the trip were Mark Lombard who attended PVA in 1967
and Wayne Harlow (don't know his year of graduation). Nancy Weavers (class of
1967) daughter, Heather, was also on the trip, so there were lots of PVA
connections. Anxious to see every at the reunion next year. Jean Smead Brodis,
class of 1967

Love the picture of PVA on the home page! I perused the
messages from PVA alumni and enjoyed seeing the names of many who were there
when I and my family were. They were great years and I remember PVA and all of
you with great fondness. I hope to see yo in 2000.

Hi all, living in Cleveland TN with my beautiful wife

really like to hear from any of you that attended PVA from 1974-1976.

Hello again! I misspelled my internet e-mail address in
my previous note. Please refer to this guest book entry for the correct
spelling. My apologies!!! Paul Anderson

Doug and Paul, Thanks for your efforts in providing a way
for us PVAer's to find our way back to each other again. As luck would have it
Rudy "found" me AGAIN last December 1998. Thanks Rudy for never giving up on me!
Well...life has been good because God has been good. My wife, Pamela, and I have
been married for thirteen years. We live in the Los Angeles area in the "burbs"
of San Fernando Valley. We have a lovely baby boy, Jayce Michael, whom we
adopted February 199 . Our adoption petition was just approved, Friday March 26.
Believe me that was a great ceremony...not a dry eye in the court room. A lot of
family and friends were present to share the momentous occasion with us.
Professionallly speaking... Pam supervises a staff of 25 members, coordinating a
non-profit program for homeless people here in Los Angeles County. I work for a
public utility in downtown L.A. I am a new manager of a staff of 8 people. We
are responsible for computer security policy procedures and researching and
implementing new technology. Exciting, but sometimes in this age of technology,
v-e-e-r-y scary. Well that's about it in a nutshell guys. Thanks so much again
Doug and Paul for making this web site happen. A very special thanks to you
Rudy. You're a true friend and I miss you so much. Hope to here from you guys
soon! Paul Anderson

Hey Paul: Took a while to get to this website but I
finally made it. The "pioneervalley@geocities.com" address brought me to the
geocities home page. I got a pva newsletter. I'm glad to see that their are
others willing to "pick up the torch". My full address is: Fred & Vicki
Harrison, 120 Pam Drive,Gastonia NC 28056 (704) 868-3265,email:
hfamily@bellsouth.net I'll be glad to forward any missing addresses as I find
them. If I can be of any other help just let me know. Good Luck and God's Speed
to all you on the Alumni committee. I hope to be able to see you all next year.

Comments:
Please note slight change in email address. I also favor
reunion at SNEC campmeeting. Accomodations are easier and cheaper if you don't
mind roughing it a little. First weekend of SNEC is probably better for our NNEC
classmates since our second is usua ly their first. Of course if we have a snowy
winter the first weekend interferes with the public school graduations. Pity so
many of our kids have not had the good fortune to attend a school ike ours.
Comments:
I feel as though life has come full circle now. I had
thought that PVA and fellow classmates had long ago ceased to exist. It is great
to renew old aquaintences with those that were a part of my experience years
ago. Would still like to hear from Nicet e Valdez, Vicky Richardson, Elihu
Powell, Leon Davis etc. Looking forward to 2000

Hey Fred Harrison...where are you??????Remember when you
held the macaroni and cheese platter upside down in the middle of the cafeteria
and Miss McLaren was screaming and Mr Roberts was trying to get the plate out of
your hand and you kept moving it away from him? Well Buddy...I just stopped
laughing about it the other day!!!!DROP ME A LINE!!!!Frank

For current information regarding the 2000 reunion please
write to Helen Kuntz at sparkyb2@juno.com. It's my understanding that those in
attendance at the 1988 "Gathering" decided to meet every four years, on the July
4 weekend, at AUC. This was apparen ly due more to AUC's preference, due to
limited accomodations at other times. There has been some discussion on the date
because of other conflicting meetings, reunions, etc. One recent idea suggested
was to move it to either the first or second weekend f SNE Campmeeting. A good
point has been made that we may never have a fixed date and location if an
attempt is made to set it when no other conflicts exist. Still, it would be a
good thing if as many as possible voiced their opinions. Peyton Jeanotte Sc
uster ('73) is the Reunion Coordinator. Last I checked she didn't have email,
but can be reached through Helen. Or, if you would like her postal address I'll
be happy to supply that through email.

Well, its been a long time, 25 years to be exact. Allot
has happened, but the good part is that God has watched over me even when I
didn't know He was. Now I know that he has kept me alive to give my life to Him
